Last week, a little girl about 7 or 8 came into my retail shop & wanted to know what I could give her for free... she wanted a scooter. I told her I could give her a hug. She said she didn't want it & made a face. It saddened me.
Yesterday, a blind man asked me for a ciggy & said he'd give me a quarter. I laughed & told him to keep his quarter. I told him I'd give him a smaoke if he would also accept a hug. He laughed. We hugged. I whispered 'peace' into his ear & he whispered back 'Thank you, my child. God bless'

E-Hugs to all.

LOL, yesterday I hugged a frustrated fellow at the post office. He looked frazzled going in & downright PO when leaving. I caught him in the lot & said 'excuse me sir...may I hug you?' He mumbled something & I just hugged him (could i get arrested for assaault?) LOL, he patted my back dismissively & mumbled something else. I said 'Just a free hug...pass it on' and hurried away.
Today, I hugged my bosses eldest child. She hugged me right back. It was great. I'll have to hug her again & tell her what I told that guy yesterday & maybe whenever her sibling is upset or whathaveyou she can pass the hug on.

"I'm giving out hugs and cocoa this morning--in that order, mindyou......"

It got me a chuckle, a hug and a bunch of junk mail that I didn't mind getting one bit.

*plotting today's hug*

So, I go up to this woman that comes into the coffee shop every morning and I put my arms out to hug her. I was thinking that this is a pretty good idea, this hug someone new everyday idea, so, I figured I'd hug her since I've never hugged her before, and besides, she ain't that hard to look at and what's the harm of a little hug, right?

Well, she liked it and hugged me back, but then her husband came over and grabbed me by the back of my jacket collar and threw me up against the wall and proceeded to kick the living crap out of me, the whole time yelling to his wife that he knew she had been cheating on him and that sooner or later he'd find the bastard and kick the living crap out of him.

Just kidding. I'll hug someone today while I'm out doing the Tuesday at 4PM afternoon war protest. I promise, I swear!

Peace.

I went to a meeting last night. A woman that I don't know was there. After the meeting, i went up to her and to a guy that I have seen before. I told them about the hug a day deal, they both stretched out their arms and we group hugged. It was cool. Each of us mentioned the warm feeling it gave us. I never knew. Thanks.

And a valentine for you today. I don't have the PO box number from the "Pack n' Ship" :-)

LOL, Apparently Angela Marie...I have been missing things here myself this week!
Spadoman...it feels good doesn't it?!
I am amazed at thge variety of hugging styles. Friday I hugged an endearing lady that I met at the craft store. Funny, how a simple 'excuse me' can turn into a 10 minute dialogue...anyway, after 10 minutes a chit-chat...where we somehow discussed everything from income tax to divorce, smoking to escapism, childhood to senior moments, I told her how I loved our little talk & asked for a hug. She hugged my back the same way I hugger her. It was so natural & really just a beautiful thing. She squeezed my shoulders & I felt her love of all...
Yesterday, I hugged many, many people...people I knew & people that I will come to know in the future. It seems though that Sundays will become my day of hugging those that are tried & true...my dogs & my hubby.

Didn't mean to neglect any commenters, I didn't realize. For all of you...a big, nestle into the neck, wrap my arms around you virtual hug!
