Totems of the River, The Rocks, The Heart & the Great Heron

Fluid, moving & changing it course with time.
All together at once, yet completely distinct.
Life-giving. Life changing.

Looking down. Reflections of oneself. Reflections of the skies above.
Looking again, through clear green-tinted karma... life.
Elders, grand-fathers, heart-shaped rocks.

The Great Heron watches over me. Stares at me. Escorts me. Nothing I do goes unnoticed. So, I do nothing.

Floating in peace.

Following the Great Heron's lead, I watch, I wait...I listen.

Squirrels , badgers, beavers, chipmunks, birds of all colors and sizes....swooshing, scaling, dipping, climbing, digging. Chirping, clicking, calling.

River flies, moths, water skeeters, giant yellow butterflies and dragonflies of blue, green, white, red, purple & gray...flitting, floating, buzzing and humming.

Turtles ducking under the water & fish leaping out...
I just float along.
Watching.
Waiting.

I know that right now this is where I am supposed to be.
These are the waters I am supposed to travel through.
This that surrounds me now, grounds me.

Mother Nature tells me to have patience.
Father-Time tells me that when it's time to dive...dive right in.

The Great Heron plucks one well chosen fish from the natural farm at his feet & gives me a sideways glance. Time.
One, two, three, four, five dragonflies perch upon my leg, my toe, my knee, my elbow and my finger.
This is PEACE.
Lost and found in the
eternity of now.
Watching.
Waiting.

When the time is right I paddle off to the side & perch myself upon some rocks, just as the Great Heron had perched himself atop fallen trees & the dragonflies had perched themselves upon me.
With a gazillion stone elders, 'grandfathers' as Spado once told me, at my feet...
and the biggest yellow butterfly I have ever seen on my shoulder...
I found them...
Watching...
Waiting...
Just Like Me...

Aw, so elegant. You are, indeed :)

Watching, waiting.. for the miracle to come.

Love the anklette and your cute little bubble toes.

Much love. Many kisses. More hugs.

"This is peace"
Words of wisdom, little one....

To see,
To know,
to watch,
to wait.....

<--was at the river and lake multiple times the past few days

Wait.
Watch.
See.

Know.

There's a fine art to that 'wait'.
I'm yet to master it.

But I am enjoying the practice time. :-)

Sweet . . . in so many ways . . .

"Be still, and know that I am God" . . . it's a proverb or a psalm, i think, but speaks just as well to the reflection of spirit that resides in every natural setting and every natural thing . . .

Be still, and become conscious of the lessons that nature has for us . . .

Smiles . . .

Lol Orhan...the miracle is in each moment that we can appreciate the simple beauty & the complex balance between all of us...me, you, herons, rivers, rocks, clouds and everything in between... Btw, many moons ago I sent you a charm just like one that dangles from that leather...you just can't see it in the pic. From my heart to your soul...p&l.

Sister Sing..."This is Peace" turned into 'That was Peace' today. Lol... I guess it sometimes takes days like this to remind us of days like that. The memory & the belief had me thinking 'Ok, I'm gonna dive' today, but I looked before I leapt and found no water to dive into....ahhhhh 'Take me to the River...Drop me in the Water.'

Mel...
So glad you have been getting some good water time in before the summer fades on us! I have found that there are actually very few things I can stand to wait on...Mother Nature is one. Maybe that's why I find it so grounding. Other than that, I'd just as soon go for it...good or bad. Otherwise, I perceive it not to be waiting, but procrastination.

Wilsons...Lol, I love the heart shaped rocks. Have them in my pond, garden & just about every room of the house. They remind me to believe. These little babies are slated to become part of my kitchen...there's a niche somewhere between the round river rocks, the conch sides & the scallops just waiting for them.
Hahahhaa...'Mauve-a-rita' sounds almost drinkable! Salt & lime please! ;) Maybelline's simple Crimson.

Oceans...Beautiful are the moments when we truly feel what we believe...peace, love... we are one.

This speaks to me on so many levels,

It reminds me in some ways of Chief seattles letter to the president (Im sure you've read it before but just in case....http://www.csun.edu/~vcpsy00h/seattle.htm )

There are deep lessons in what you say here... for all of us...

to learn from the totems of the river... to listen to the voice of nature... that calls us

to wait
to watch

and to open our eyes.... and see...

My love to you my friend, Maithri

Nice... beautifully absorbed, beautifully related... thank you for that moment in time...

Maithri...Thank you for your kind words. I will definitely have to check out Chief Seattles letter, as I have not read it yet. I imagine it contains a lesson for all of us. May Mother Nature inspire us all to do the right thing.

Shimmerings...Thank you. Sitting in traffic 5-6 days a week, being surrounded by consumerism ... the river definitely grounds me.

Dee...;) Nice picture of Kye-ah. Is it recent? Hope you had a good, grounding trip...

Skinny I enjoyed the ovely photos and words and I can see the shape of the shoes you wear because of the tan on your legs and feet (with little white toes). I've got a flipflop tan myself LOL! Great post!

oops ovely =lovely, I can't type tonight. I forgot to add, I love that ankle bracelet too!

Dee....she is such a beautiful girl. I wondered about the pic because of the pumpkin ;) Sorry to hear you are under the weather! Am sending peaceful, healing thoughts your way!

Lynette...Hahahaha...busted! You cannot tell from the pic, but the water is cold, cold, cold. It'll pickle your shin in no time, but the sun gets so warm...it feels wonderful! AS far as the anklet goes...you too can make one. It's just a strand of leather tied in a knot ;) Thanks...peace & love!
