A Thousand Hollow Words

Buddha "Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace."

Sometimes that word isn't a word at all, but a sweet, simple breath of air... a sigh of relief.

On a different note...
as I recall from my childhood...
if it someone else birthday and you too would like to make a wish when they blow out the candles... take a ring off your finger and drop it around one of the candles. If they blow all the candles out, you get your wish too...

I didn't know that. I'll be sure to remember that for my mom's birthday this weekend :)

What are you wishing for, P?

AND you get your ring back with frosting all over it!! !Wooohoo!!

:-)

Hollow words don't mean a whole lot in my world.....one word with the follow through--does bring me peace.
And then there's that quietness at the end of the day......when the rest of the world goes away and it's just me and the stars.
NO words, just breathing in peace...

Amelie...Happy, happy Birthday to your Mom. May both of your wishes be sincere and come true!!!

Dee...wishes are supposed to be kept secret aren't they? Hahaha, mine is simple and no secret really...I'd like to keep a roof over my head.

Mel...Hahaha! Yes! The icing on the ring is like an unsolicited wish come true, in and of itself.

Relying on hollow words is like trying to keep warm by burning hollow wood...it may start out looking good, but it all quickly crumbles.
BTW, I took a gazillion pics to get that one of the pelican, and although it's not the best, it takes me 'there'...I absolutely love them...so wise and prehistoric looking, regardless of their age.

*hugs* It was worth the gazillion, then!

Thank you for sharing him with us.

You're certainly brought me peace with your words.
