Riptide

rip·tide (-tīd′)

noun

a current opposing other currents, producing violently disturbed water; esp., the strong, narrow flow of sea water that rushes seaward after incoming waves pile up on the shore

This photo shows an early morning riptide before the high tide came in to conceal it. Riptides, such as this, caused over 170 lifeguard rescues in one day, for swimmer fatigue. Momma always told us, to get out of the pull of a riptide, swim at an angle, lest it take us away. Riptides change the shape and form of the beach & stir things up a bit.

Sometimes, in life, when we move against the current, we carry more power and strength than we know.

And there in the shallow green...swooshing...drifting... faster and faster into the dark waters...you said to me...
"Go this way" and we walked out of the chaos and into the peace....

Sometimes we just have to go with the flow and sometimes we have to crash through the waves....

I love those temporary channels carved by the outgoing tide at the beach.

Dee... Yup, they've pulled me many, many times. While at the beach, a life guard assistant borrowed my raft... he had to be rescued by two lifeguards, himself, for swimmer fatigue . Because he is alright, I can laugh, right? hahaha

JGMP...hahaha, yea sometimes we are the riptide, pulling against the current & carrying much more strength than we know...sometimes we go with the flow. But we always leave a ripple effect...

secret agent woman... they are quite neat. When the tide rolls in, their power get concealed, but it is still there, ever-shifting. But when the tide pulls out, out, out, they can leave the most awesome little kiddie pools of salt-water behinds for the littlest feet to enjoy...shifting from the most aggressive tide to the least aggressive.

Mel....Sometimes we are the under-current for powerful movement, aren't we? Sometimes without even knowing it. :)

Dee... LoL, he didn't want me to know. But how does one escape the obvoisness of something like that?! Hahahha, alls well that ends well.
