Here Kitty, kitty, kitty...C'mon Out That Bag

I'm a 'Dog Girl.' Don't get me wrong I like cats, but I love my 5 dogs.

Smokie flirts with me.

One hundred pounds of fur, paws, tongue & tail T-bone me when I go to walk across the room. His head flips from left to right, ears flapping, back arching, eyes googling up at me.... smooshing himself up against me, he leans. Flirting, this salvaged mutt gives a steady push into me. He flits around... racing head first between m knees and I try to take a step. Behind me, he spins, plies & dives his head once again between me legs. I stop in my tracks & look down, waiting for clearance. He's once again standing between my legs, head flipping, ears flapping & his teeth are chattering. He's smiling. On my backside I can feel the sweep of his tail against my bootie & lower back. He's over the top & he's flirting with me...

The rip of the heavy duty tape-dispenser ca
lls all 5 dogs into the room. Ten eyes are on me. Three heads rest between paws, two heads remain upright...cocking themselves to the left & to the right. Five heads, ten eyeballs... watching my every move.

They're all waiting ever-so-patiently for me to let the cat out of the bag... Two more days until I am divorced & Timmy Toes moves out.

We had a boxer when I was growing up. Damn good dog. Got hit once by a car going at least 35mph. Hit her right in the ass. Spun her around on the road a few times, but she was no worse for wear. Another time she jumped 5 feet up and into a double-paned bay window in the back of our house. My aunt brought over her newly adopted puppy, we were standing in the kitchen (the location of the bay window), my dog was outside, I guess my dog wanted to meet this new pup cause all of a sudden she burst through the window, held herself up on the ledge with her paws, looked at all of us, then slid back out the window. The only damage done was a small cut to her front paw.
That dog kicked ass.
Plus we discovered, during my college years, that my dog was into whiskey. In particular 7 and 7's. That dog loved her booze...

Singleton~ especially with all these dogs around! ;)

Vicci~ You are an angel! Aren't you somewhat weary of anyone who can't stand dogs or cats? ;)

Orhan~ Good Times! I will NOT be bringing the dogs. ;)

Just Run~ I don't know who would be in more trouble if they could talk...me or them... I bet Smokie would sound like CasaNova.

Just me~ Lol, dogs have an innate sixth sense when changes are brewing, especially if those changes involve them...to be continues...

BeerSpit~ Boxers are an exceptional breed, imho, right up there with Labs. You should get another dog...

Nithya~ Lol, that's one of things I love about having big dogs...they give BIG hugs & these ferocious beasts would love to be hugged by you anytime. Not getting yourself a dog right now is wise though. When the time is right, you can. Each of these were rescued in one way or another...I never set out to a dog owner, much less a keeper of five. (Sorry for all the typos in post ;)

Ah, the joys of heavy duty tape.
It seals things up rather well.

Skinny, that's a hillarious ramble. It works as a prose poem all the way.

What a crazy cool dog. You love him. My mom's cat's are the same way, they mob me all the time and walk over her to get to me.

I miss my old dog. I haven't had one now in twenty four years. His name was Samson, half Collie, half St. Bernard all big. Like a ginat collie with rusty reddish and white, instead of light brown and white. He was awesome, but had to be put to sleep because he caught heart worms terminally. I came home froms chool, and he was gone. I wasn't even expecting it. I thougth he ran away, and searched for him around my neighborhood, until my mom told me the truth. There's a nice memory. But I do love the dog, still, so I guess it is good.

I love dogs, but it'll be a while before I ever get one.

Peace~Love

Skinny-I would like to send you over an e-mail, but I don't have your address. Maybe Orhan could be sweet enough to send you over my address so we can swap and I'll be able to send you that email!
If that's cool with you!

Mel~ Lol...yes, it is tear-resistant as well!

Eric~ Love them dogs! One day when you have the space, you should get another. They truly offer unconditional love. Smokie flirts with me, I think, because he remembers life before me. He was a hairless baby with secondary infections inside & out. He req'd close to a years' worth of weekly vet trips & cost 1000's upon 1000's of dollars.... but who can put a price on that grateful smile!

fuzzy~ It is so special & I feel so blessed. Maybe when Ina is bigger, you too can rescue one!

thethinker~ Lol...that's through the screen door & I love that pic too. Ander & Smokie (two in the front) have gotten some girth to them since that was taken ;)

tai~ Lol....Girl you crack me up! Yes...I have heard that...a couple times! It simply can't happen! All mine are spaded & neutered & the vacancy light is out!

Shrink~ TY...BTW, I don't think it's just water...I can see the current of water through the dress part ;) me thinks it was a fairy 'spiking it' for you!

Annie~ They are creatures of habit. Life is good within our ritual. Step out of that & they all go crazy.

BeerSpit~ On it's way! ;)

Did you see the news report about a company in the US that offers a rent-a-dog service to people who want dogs without the responsibility!

Cheers

David

skinnylittleblonde said...

Yes I did David & I kinda equate it with escort services and/or foster care, in a weird way.

I had a rott and a doberman. I found a cat on the street one night and brought it home. My ex named it "Lunch."

I know that's how my dogs looked at him.

Lunch currently resides with a friend under an assumed name.

gotta new one... it's beautiful
real time, as Sing says...

clink! tink!
to your gaurdian angels
and your own free spirit;
color the sky with you name
and open heaven's front door
wide for my tired eyes to see

you need no key to do this

the angels are waitng for you

skinnylittleblonde said...

Falling ~ Lol...that is too funny... 'Lunch.' Gotta love our dogs. I have a friend whose dog's name is pronounced 'dee-owe-gee' and whose cats' name is said 'cee-aye-tee' ...spelled d-o-g & c-a-t, minus the dashes. Funny!

Eric~ I hope the angels aren't waiting on me...I have a lot to do today & so do they! ;)

I was pleased to find your comments at The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Wondering whether you ever come for a look at my main blog?

Kilroy's The Gonzo Papers

Hope you'll come by for a look some time; it would be nice to do a link exchange there and keep in closer touch.

Have a great week(end). Why limit it to a couple days a week, eh

G'day SLB,

Wow - great attention to detail on Carol's fairy picture.

Pointed to it on my site a few hours ago. You are SO observant!

Please leave me a comment to let me know if I can add you to my blogroll of my favourite sites.

``The cat out of the bag'' - what a great way to end a post.

Keep smiling

Scott~ No Kidding! Today, no-one would have a clue that I swept yesterday evening. It's also a lot of dog food.

Spongey~ Lol, the cat I don't think thinks at all, in this case & the dogs are still unsure of what is going on.

Anon SB~ ILY! The 'talking dog' (Brodie... back left rear)will stay with me until the time is right for the two-legged talking dog to take him away. Lol.

Eric ~ Lol, and you know I will catch up with you...these skinny little legs are used to making great leaps ;) TY,P&L...pls no worries on Singleton, she's good... just waiting on replacement Modem.

Kilroy~ It's been a while...TY

David~ ...and every ending is just a new beginning. Funny you should call me observant,I thought she was as clear as daylight. peace.

I like cats but I’m horribly allergic to them. Like I say, cats or ok, but dogs are everybody’s best friend. I haven’t had a dog since I lost my last one to sickness in ’92, after twelve years of non-stop tail wagging. While I still get to scratch dog ears on a regular basis while on the job, it’s not the same. Your post makes my want to go down to the shelter and take one or two home.

Slag~ man...I know that if you went to the local shelter that it would be a win/win! Not everyone would I encourage to go get a dog, but you, my man, I am confidant would provide a wonderful home to a needy diggity-dog!

Mindy~ Lol, I would hope not...but even the meter reader has realized there nothing but piles of lovin'

Pixie~ TY, you too! Nice to see you out & about!

Mel~Thank you so very much ... and in more ways than you know, thank you.

She~ I love it...Pet Parades are so enjoyable. I took my lab one year & lol, she trodded along until the end & then the last 3 blocks, she acted like it was a race, so I let her lead the way. Hahahha, we were the first ones through & she thought she won the Olympics.
I have had people ask me if our neighborhood is a two dog minimum neighborhood & we visually surveyed two blocks and found that it is an average of 2.5 dogs per house...tee,hee,hee... I make up for one houses shortcoming on the quota ;)
